Historians are working on a new project to map out how much land the grounds of Arbroath Abbey used to cover before the development of the town centre as part of efforts to enhance the town’s appeal to tourists.

The Friends of Arbroath Abbey have revealed visitors will soon be able to access all areas of the centuries old structure after years of large sections being sealed off because of safety fears.
